Installing and using StreamCore
A practical guide to install, activate and configure your platform.
1. Installation
Use a 64-bit Debian server with root access and an Internet connection. When migrating from Astra, first keep a copy of /etc/astra/astra.conf.
cd /root && curl -fsSL https://streamcore2.com/install/install.sh -o install.sh && curl -fsSL https://streamcore2.com/install/install.sh.sha256 -o install.sh.sha256 && sha256sum -c install.sh.sha256 && chmod +x install.sh && ./install.sh- Paste the complete command as the root user.
- Wait for package and service validation.
- Open
http://SERVER-IP:8090. - Sign in and open Server → License.
/etc/astra/astra.conf. Do not remove Astra until channels, DVB and SoftCAM have been verified.2. Activating the license
- In the Engine, copy the complete Hardware ID shown in Server → License.
- In the portal, open My licenses and select the license for that server.
- Use Generate code for online activation, or download
license.sclic. - If you download the file, upload it from the Engine license page.
3. Adding channels
- Open Transmission → Channels and select Add channel.
- Enter a name and a unique identifier.
- Select the source: DVB, UDP, HTTP/HLS, SRT or another available input.
- Configure the source and select a processing profile when transcoding is required. Use Copy to preserve the original codec.
- Configure the output selected by the customer and save.
- Start the channel and verify bitrate, continuity and errors before publishing it.
Importing from Astra
In Server → Astra Import, review the detected file, run the audit and confirm only valid channels. Duplicate identifiers must be corrected before importing.
4. DVB adapters and SoftCAM
- In DVB Adapters, refresh the inventory and confirm that Linux detects every tuner.
- Create the adapter using the correct frequency, polarization, symbol rate and DVB system.
- Scan services and add only the required programs.
- In SoftCAM, add the Newcamd/CCcam connection and select Test connection.
- Assign the SoftCAM to the encrypted channel and review CA/ECM monitoring.
5. HLS and HTTP outputs
In System → Network and outputs, choose the gateway ports and save. Channel URLs must use the public port selected by the customer and must not remain fixed to the internal port 8088.
- Configure the public HTTP port.
- Select the access policy: open, authorized network or IPTV accounts.
- Save and apply.
- Copy the generated channel URL and test it in VLC.
6. Private nodes
Each installation generates its own Node ID and private tunnel. To link servers, both must have an active license and Share this node enabled.
- Copy the remote server's Node ID.
- On the primary server, open Server → Nodes.
- Add the remote Node ID and select Scan Node.
- Compare channels and select backup or new channels.
HLS is transported between nodes. The backup automatically returns to DVB after the original signal becomes stable again.
7. Updates
In Server → Updates, check the published version. Before applying a change, StreamCore validates the package and keeps a recovery backup. Do not interrupt the server during an update.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the same license.sclic on two servers?
No. Every server requires its own independent License ID and signed file.
Is a Node ID another license?
No. It is the private connection identity of an installation that already has a license.
Why does the server show Degraded?
The Engine, NGINX, node agent or license validation may have failed. Open Server → Services to identify the exact component.
Why does VLC fail to play a URL?
Confirm that the URL uses the configured public port, that the channel is running and that the access policy permits the IP address or credentials being used.
How do I renew only one license?
Open My licenses, expand the required License ID and choose its renewal period.
Can I purchase before installing?
Yes. Purchase the license, install StreamCore and then bind the Hardware ID using an activation code or signed file.
